Grayson's new digs.

Well I have been a poopy blogger the last week but I can explain. Shane is home and Grayson has both ears infected. We believe it is due to his molars coming in but you know doctors they will never attribute anything to that. Anyway, this post is to show you all Grayson's new bed. We went for the Toddler bed because it was more affordable right now, no new mattress or bedding required, and it is low to the ground for the 14 1/2 mth old to get used to. He has slept in it a couple of times, but he has yet to spend a full night in it due to the ear infections. He has been snuggled between Mommy and Daddy, if that is what you can call it. I think he gets restless sleeping from me.

Quick update for know. I will write more later...after Shane is gone and Grayson is sleeping better.

Loves the water!?

OK tonight Grayson decided that I was being a little too slow at getting him in the bath. I was talking to his daddy on the phone. He thought that the 1/2 inch at the bottom of the tub was enough. He then shut off the water and proceeded to climb into he tub, unassisted with all his clothes on.

Needless to say, you can tell what time of day is one of his favorites..it is just the going to bed after that he really doesn't like.

Enjoying dinner

Maybe a little too much. After a tiring day at the zoo...hoping to get a couple of pictures from Heather, Grayson can be seen here after eating and again wearing his dinner. I don't know why but he likes to rub his filthy hands all over his head. Here you can see what remains of the fish cakes, veggies and pizza he ate tonight. He really does not seems too bothered by it.

Nothing too new.

Nothing too much new to report. We haven't really added anything new to our schedules. So our days are just filled with anything to make Grayson tired. All we do is swim and play anytime we can. We have however found this new coffee/playhouse. It is great, the moms can sit and drink coffee and talk as the kids play with all the toys. Let me tell you it is a GREAT time. Grayson and Hudson get so excited when we get there.

Anyhoo, here are a few pictures of the little man from today. As you can see he likes to double the cat's scratching post as a jungle gym, and he is constantly trying to give Road hugs....she is really not as enthused about it as he is.

I will try to remember the camera more often so I can give you all more new photos.

Grayson's Future Wife???

Well, my friend Harry and his wife Monica just had a beautiful baby girl yesterday. Eva Celeste Dickinson was born on Sept 14th, 2006 at 11am. Congratulations to the family on a job well done and I look very forward to more pictures from the glowing, raving daddy.

Maybe if the 2 should ever meet, which I am hoping they do next summer, Grayson has a future wife. Harry don't worry he is my son how bad could he be!? :) Also apologize to Monica if she isn't too happy I posted the first picture but it is a nice 1st family shot.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Backyard Idea.

We were at Joanne and Hudson's again the other night and I got an idea for our backyard once it is completed. Getting him a little bench like this...or maybe an Adirondack chair set. I know he has his little fold out chair but I thought this would be good once we finish the deck. It will add to his pool area and give him and his friends a little place to rest. He really likes Hudson's, he gets on to it all by himself and for the most part we have to pry him off.

Oh Canada!!!

So I got addicted to watching RockStar Supernova when Carmen came for Grayson's birthday. I have been watching it every week, and tonight was the season finale. I hate to say it, but I told you so!!! From day 1 I have been saying Lukas Rossi would win. And to loosely quote Shane "If another Canadian wins, they are going to stop looking elsewhere for talent" Good on us!! We got what it takes to sing and front all those "big time" American bands. I have to say Toby is very cute and Dilana is an amazing performer, but from the first show I watched I knew Lukas had what those 3 wanted. A kid from "the centre of the universe" AKA Toronto.

That is all for tonight. More on Grayson tomorrow.

Recipe for Disaster!!!

Well there is nothing like torrential downpours and trying to cart around a crabby 14 mth old to turn a day sour!!! Well, 14 mths on Sunday. But anyway, take note of the weather chart on the right and you will see that it is less than 10` in Calgary. It is freezing cold...I put on the heat, which if you know me well is strange, pouring rain...you get soaked just walking to the car, and Grayson is crabby. So needless to say today hasn't been too fun. At the gym I hadn't even been on the treadmill for 15mins when the daycare lady came to get me. I guess Grayson had been screaming and set everyone else off, then I was changing and realized I had lost my clean pair of underwear...so commando it was, then was the rain. It wasn't too bad when we left but while we were inside it picked up quite a bit and has yet to slow down. So Grayson is now napping and I am going to sit and have a cup of tea and a piece of cake.

Nothing to do with Grayson

But I guess it is for Grayson!!! Shane and I started doing some home renos. Most of you know about the upstairs bathroom, which is still getting the final touches. But while Shane was home last week we took to the yard. Shane dug up lots of the hill and built this wall. It is to create more lawn space for us and more running room for Grayson. It still needs a bit of filling in and tweaking but you get the idea.

Now I just have to go to Derrik's store buy topsoil, and fill in some perennials and a few cedars for next year. Next time if the weather holds out, as they are calling for snow this weekend, we will tackle the patio. We are planning on pulling up all the patio stones and creating a wood deck/platform where they were, you will see in the first picture there is a lone stone above, that will not be part of it and will be more lawn. We will however extend it to reach the fence on the right side by Grayson's window. We should gain about a foot more to the fence. And it will give us a nice place to sit, BBQ, and put Grayson's pool.

What do you think?

Almost forgot.

When I was uploading the football pictures I found these and had to publish something about them. We went to Edmonton last weekend to meet Shane and bring him home. In the hotel we were staying at, each room had these small blue boxes. Those boxes for curbside recycling.

Anyway, Grayson decided it served a better purpose and tossed his toys in. He then felt that was not good enough and decided he fit in it best of all. It was TOO cute.

And obviously this all happened before Shane arrived. But Grayson had a great time tearing up and down the hall into he hotel, riding in the elevator, and flirting with all the international rugby girls there for the IRB Women's World Cup...there were 3 teams staying in our hotel.

Season Opener

OK, for those of you that don't know, Shane is a HUGE football fan. He is a true, loyal Detroit Lions fan. God knows why as they can't seem to do very well. But he stands by them because of Barry Sanders..."the greatest running back of all time"...to quote Shane. Anyhow, today was their home opener and it just happened to be against the Seattle Seahawks, which is Derrik's team. So the boys spent the day at the Telford's watching copious amounts of football. Sue and I went out for breakfast and them shopping...total girl stuff, which for those of you who know, I don't normally do. And for the excited Dad's we found onesie jerseys for the boys to wear when we were in Vegas. In this picture you can see Grayson in his very first football jersey.

Daddy is not looking too good, as he is paying more attention to the TV over my head. Oh well, the season is a long one and I am sure the opportunity to get a better picture of the 2 of them will arise at some point when Shane is home again. And the final outcome, Detroit 6, Seattle 9...it was a game of field goals.

SO EXCITED!!!

First off I found a new cool thing to add to my blog. Note the "Year in the Life" picture show on the right hand side. I think that is pretty cool.

But what I am really, truly excited about is that my best friend Erin is finally getting married. YIPEE!!!!! I spoke to her tonight and she and Dan are planning on the Dominican Republic in May for their ceremony...which means that Grayson, Shane, my parents and myself will all be getting to take a trip there. Not only will it be great for my parents to be at the wedding, but heck, bringing a babysitter along gives Shane and I a chance to enjoy ourselves with the happy couple. I couldn't be happier for them and as I said, I am SO SO SO excited that this day is coming!!!

Congratulations Erin and Dan. I love you guys and miss you SO much!!!

Fall Fun

With summer slowly coming to an end, Grayson and I have begun our Fall schedule. Yesterday we had our first swimming lesson and today we start the next Gymboree. Grayson was the oldest one at swimming I think, and he will probably be the youngest at Gymboree. At swimming however, he was showing off and when the teacher brought out a floating mat for them to lay and sit on Grayson decided to stand up and try surfing. He was a big hit. All the parents were asking how old he was and when he started walking etc. I think it will be great fun and it will be a nice time with Sue and Evan.

Today at Gymboree we have our old teacher, and the better teacher, back. Terry was our teacher when we first began last year, and we had her up until April of this year. She left but did not find it as fulfilling as working with the kids so she is back and we all couldn't be happier. Grayson loves being there and I know he will feel quite at home when we walk in the doors today.

Ok, so here finally is the picture of Grayson and Hudson sharing the bike. As I said we were at Joanne and Hudson's house and Hudson was playing. Grayson decided that he had to be on there with him. It was quite hysterical.

My baby is gone!!!

It is true what they say...Cherish every moment with your children because they grow up too fast!!! Joanne sent this picture along with all the zoo ones, and when I look at it I can't see my baby boy anymore. He is such a little man now it is scary!!

This was him eating lunch at the zoo yesterday and it just amazes me how much he has changed. Once and a while I get a glimpse of that little baby but come on, look at him, he is definitely a toddler now.

Man is it sad!!!

Intended Purpose?

I don't think Grayson would agree. But it seems that more than just he is lovin' this new chair. Looks like Road Kitty has decided to adopt it for her own. I understand from Shane that this is not the first time Road has made herself at home in the chair. Grayson did leave her alone at this time. I think he had more important toys to play with...which is strange because he usually loves to torment the poor cats. We will have to see what happens if she naps in there again.
